Jeni Reeves - lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Jeni Reeves is a very talented illustrator who, during her appearances, zeroes in on the idea that stories are told through the illustrations as much as they are told through words. Among the books she has illustrated are Stephen Krensky's Anansi and the Box of Stories and Mike Fink, Candice Ransom's Willie McClean and the Civil War Surrender, and Jean L.S. Patrick's The Girl Who Struck Out Babe Ruth.

Carol Gorman - lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Carol Gorman is the author of many elementary grade/middle school novels. Her middle grade novel, Dork in Disguise, was nominated for ten state choice awards (winner in five of those). Two more Dork books followed. Stumptown Kid is a sports-mystery novel set in the Midwest in the 1950s and involves prejudices during the 50's. Her most recent novel, Games, was released in 2007.

Jacqueline Briggs Martin - lives in Mt. Vernon, Iowa

Jacqueline Briggs Martin is the author of the Caldecott award winning biography of Wilson A. Bentley, Snowflake Bentley, and several other titles including her most recent, Banjo Granny and Joy on Redbean Road. Other recent titles include: On Sand Island; The Lamp, the Ice, and the Boat Called Fish; The Water Gift and the Pig of the Pig; and The Chiru of High Tibet.
